To cover the cost of both salaries and resources, we need to raise £100,000 on an annual basis and to bring in this kind of revenue we rely heavily on third party events as well as companies, charitable trusts and individuals to give their support. From events alone we have had a record breaking number this year, which is partly due to the Fund establishing itself as one of Yorkshire’s leading cancer charities but largely due to the kindness of families who have joined together with us in a concerted effort to fight this disease not only in memory of Emma and Peter, but also in memory of their loved ones.

Although once again we have met our fundraising target for this year, we are still just one family trying to make a difference. As you know we are a relatively small team. Paul, my husband is the Treasurer and sometimes Accountant. My mother, Wendy is the ‘Networker’ which leaves me to fundraise… Therefore, may I ask our supporters to continue to help us, not only to preserve the memory of my sister Emma and my father Peter, but to ensure that the needs of these special children, teenagers and young adults and their families are met through the invaluable service provided at St. James’s University Hospital and the LGI.

Thank you everyone for their continuous support and I very much look forward to seeing you at some of our events in the course of the forthcoming year. Jane Stevens
